DESCRIPTION

The school architecture will have to interface with the existing urban layout but also with the design of the countryside: buildings and open spaces are thus physically intertwined with the layout of the citrus plantations. The new building is seen as the completion of a landscape intervention, where the green vegetation belongs to both scenarios.  

The pole is born in continuity with the cultivated areas, taking again the rhythmic punctuation of the plantings and the "design". The architecture acquires its partial formal autonomy conforming with elementary volumes interfered by vegetation. The sought-after symbiosis translates into an architecture of greenery, in which both the open spaces of relationship that the buildings are characterized by being inserted into a grid of nodes and remarkable points that refer directly to the citrus grove.  

 

The "landscape" approach corresponds to a structural and functional morphology of the entire school body: the overall sign is underlined by the punctuation of trees, flowerbeds, plants, seats, courtyards, patios, skylights...  

The buildings are decomposed according to a "fault line" that generates a shift in composition, to highlight the desire to "break" the closure of the school building (current teaching activity) which are associated with other bodies (common activities and "open")The Civic Center (auditorium, gyms, libraries, laboratories). The school body is configured as an urban schedule, a mixture of open and closed spaces, private and public areas
