DESCRIPTION

The project idea is thus born from the analysis of the territory and its people, climate, origins, buildings and colors.

The basic forms of the building are generated as a consequence of the transition and the direction of the winds coming from the south-west and north. The side streets configure two curves of closure and is directed toward the north generating solids and voids and assuming the shape of Kheper, the typical Egyptian scarab, symbol of becoming and transformation. The voids which are generated from the encounter between the central axis and curves create the Eye of Ra, symbol of prosperity and good health. These symbolic elements refer therefore to the idea that science, as such, cannot prescind from them. Therefore there are no human or spiritual borders that will interrupt the search, progress and innovation.

The project idea is also based on the concept of proportion. The buildings closer to the city are less tall than those toward the desert. The idea is to create an optical effect of rising from the bottom upwards as a metaphor of the ascent of man toward knowledge as prerogative and goal of science.
